Fifty Shades Darker Movie Review

Daunted by the singular tastes and dark secrets of the handsome, tormented young entrepreneur Christian Grey, Anastasia Steele has broken off their relationship to start a new career with a Seattle Independent Publishing House (SIP); but desire for Christian still dominates her every waking thought, and when he proposes a new arrangement, Anastasia cannot resist. They rekindle their searing sexual affair, and Anastasia learns more about the harrowing past of her damaged, driven and demanding Fifty Shades.

While Christian wrestles with his inner demons, Anastasia must confront the anger and envy of the women who came before her, and make the most important decision of her life.

Last week I went out with my Friend to see Fifty Shades Darker. We were excited about it since we both watched the first movie together. I need to rush to the cinema after my shift as the movie will start at 4:20 and my shift ends at 4:00. We missed the first 10 minutes of the movie but according to my friends that already seen it there’s nothing important I missed. LOL

I rated Fifty Shades of Grey 5.5/10 (.5 is for Dakota as she did a good job playing the role and because she’s the only who bared it all (I mean frontal nudity) . But for Fifty Shades Darker I’m a bit annoyed the way she acts, it feels so unnatural unlike before. The way she speaks is too slow and modest that doesn’t feel natural. Jamie Dornan is way better in this film compared to the previous one, Feels like he’s more in to it and more connected to the character unlike before. And Yes, the facial hair worked! He looks more hotter than the clean-shaved look in the Fifty Shades of Grey. In this movie, there’s more connection between Dakota and Jamie actually they’re starting to look good together (Too bad Jamie is already married).

Comparing Fifty Shades Darker to Fifty Shades of Grey? Darker is better! But if you prefer more steamy scenes Darker might disappoint you. But my point is, in Fifty Shades Darker is more focused in the story more than the sex scenes which is good (I think). The sex scenes in Darker are not as many compared to Fifty Shades of Grey and they are shorter but it’s still smoking HOT. The scenes are steaming HOT!

They did stay true to the book though there are still few changes and scenes missing considering the second book is the most wildest with the most sex scenes compared to the first and the last installment of the series. They introduced new characters Jack Hyde, Leila and Mrs. Robinsons! Yes Mrs. Robinsons!! I’m having a feeling that they might change the story in Fifty Shades of Freed, instead of Jack and Leila getting revenge. It will be Jack and Ms. Robinsons. What do you think?

Overall the movie was good, I like how they did it and how the story flows. It’s not that bad as the critics claims and if you’ll compare it to the first film this is way better. Will I recommend it? For the fans, Yes. Also, don’t leave the cinema immediately! There’s a post credit scene, A sneak peek of the next movie Fifty Shades of Freed!

Fifty Shades Darker = 6/10
You should check the soundtrack, the soundtrack is good! I love it!

The Divergent Series: Allegiant

divergent-allegiant-movie-reviews

Allegiant is based on the Divergent series of books by Veronica Roth. It is the sequel to Divergent (2014) and Insurgent (2015) and it will precede Ascendant in 2017.

After the revelation in Insurgent that post-apocalyptic Chicago was walled off as an experiment by those on the outside world, the remaining factions descend into chaos. The remaining members of the Erudite faction are put on mock trials and executed, and Tris’ brother Caleb is scheduled to be judged next.

Frustrated that his mother Evelyn has now taken over as dictator, Four begins to plot a way to get over the city walls with Tris and find out who, or what, lies on the other side. However, Tris decides to break Caleb free first. Her action puts all of the remaining factions hot on their trail as they race for the wall. Tori, Peter, and Christina join their group along the way.

As they make it to the other side, they find a wasteland destroyed by war. But in their search, they run across the people that built the Chicago experiment in the first place and their technology is centuries more advanced than they ever suspected. Tris learns that she’s the key to all of their efforts, but at what cost to mankind?

****

For me its a good movie but a terrible movie adaptation. Divergent was a good start then Insurgent was a bit off the book but Allegiant is way more off than the last one. They changed a lot of stuff and some of the characters from the book are missing. There are a lot of characters and events in the book that will make the movie a lot more better but they chose to do it differently which made the adaptation more awful. Yes, the effects are kinda good and the actors were great but still it doesn’t change how crappy and predictable the story is. As a big fan of Veronica Roth’s series, I’m disappointed with this adaptation. I wanted the movie to be good as the book but sadly I didn’t do it justice

Well, for those who haven’t read the book but like the first two films, I think you’ll like this but the book is way better. And I still don’t see a need for splitting the last book into two movies. I hope they wont change the ending though.

6.5/10

I watched the movie adaptation of The Choice last night, another Chick Flick movie based on the best-selling novel of Nicholas Sparks with the same title.

Synopsis:  Travis Shaw (Benjamin Walker) is a vet, living in small coastal town Wilmington, who falls in love on his first meeting with Gabby Holland (Teresa Palmer), who has moved in to the house next door. Gabby is a medical student who is in a relationship with a fellow doctor, Ryan McCarthy (Tom Welling). With Ryan overseas, Gabby and Travis spend more time together, starting a relationship. Ryan returns, and is keen to resume his relationship with Gabby. Unsure of her feelings, Gabby tells Travis that their relationship wasn’t necessarily serious, but eventually Gabby and Travis get back together and marry. Over the course of the next few years they have two children and become a happy family.

One evening, after a dinner to which Travis has failed to show due to a work emergency, Gabby drives back home but is involved in an accident with another car. She survives but is now in a coma, which seems permanent. Three months later, Travis is asked to give permission to turn off the life support, as the chances of her waking up again have reduced to 1%. Travis refuses to make this choice. One day, he comes to the clinic and finds her awake again. He takes her home, and they continue to lead their happy life.

I’ll keep my review short and straight. As usual it’s about a love story of a cocky good-looking country boy who fell in love with a girl and then some accident happened. A typical Nicholas Sparks movie if you know what I mean. I was a bit surprised, I thought its going to be a sad ending but they chose to have the Sappy one. The actors were great and the soundtrack is good. For me this movie is better than “The Longest Ride” , still a predictable love story. It’s still a good chick flick movie and will recommend it if you want to have a cheesy night.

This movie will make you realize about The Choices you make on your everyday life, every single choices even the small one has a big effect on us, on our lives. We must know how to make the right choices, follow your heart and what you know is right.

“It was inevitable for people to try to create a sense of normalcy in a place where nothing was normal. It helped one get through the day, to add predictability to a life that was inherently unpredictable.”

Another heartbreaking movie adaptation hitting the big screen today, A story between a quirky funny girl and a paralyzed/disabled man who doesn’t want to live his life anymore. I also posted my review of the book, you can check it here[x].

Synopsis : Young and quirky Louisa “Lou” Clark (Emilia Clarke) moves from one job to the next to help her family make ends meet. Her cheerful attitude is put to the test when she becomes a caregiver for Will Traynor (Sam Claflin), a wealthy young banker left paralyzed from an accident two years earlier. Will’s cynical outlook starts to change when Louisa shows him that life is worth living. As their bond deepens, their lives and hearts change in ways neither one could have imagined.

I like it how they stay true to the book, they started the movie exactly how it is in the book. Though some stuff are missing but it didn’t really affect the whole story. These are the things I noticed missing from the movie.

1. The arguments between Clark and her sister Katrina.
2. Clark doesn’t want to work anymore when she found out about the 6 months agreement but Will’s mother begged her to continue working.
3. Will’s father is cheating to his Mom
4. Will’s sister being upset with his decision because it will give a bad reputation to their family.
5. Clark moving to his boyfriend flat
6. Clark was warned by her Mom that if she go and support Will decision, She’s cant no longer come home.

I understand these aren’t really necessary and the movie run is already 2 hours they cant fit everything.

Emilia Clarke did very well! She did justice to her character, she made everyone laugh and love the character of Louisa Clark. Same with Sam Clafflin he portrayed the arrogant and being miserable man well. These two are very good actors so I expected them to just slay it and they did! And also the chemistry between them is undeniable, it wasn’t forced, it was earned every scene. Remember when I said how I hate Patrick when I read the book? I felt the same when I watched the movie! Haha

The movie is already 2 hours long but the story felt a bit rushed. There are some dull moments but mostly people are laughing because of Louisa. And also the soundtrack was good, love all the song though for me Unsteady and Photograph was on the wrong scenes, they should’ve used it on the heartbreaking parts to add more feels. The scene on the beach was good, oh my friend was sobbing on that part. Haha For me something missing on that scene, when I was reading that part on the book oh my heart, I felt every word they say to each other, I didn’t felt that maybe because I know what will happen but for me feels like something is missing. I really love how they started and ended the film.

Overall, the movie was good! The music, the cast were great. I heard everyone laugh and cry so I guess the adaptation did its justice. Is it better than TFIOS? For me No it wasn’t but its a good movie to see.

After the big hit of The Fault In Our Stars comes another John Green adaptation! Yes Paper Towns is now on the big screen and we can see the story of Margo and Quentin comes to life!

Paper Towns was the second John Green book I read, its definitely one of my favorite books. Even how many times I read the book it never fails to give me a roller coaster feeling. I just love the characters and the story.

First is you don’t compare the The Fault in our Stars and Paper Towns Adaptation. They are different in many ways and you just cant. Okay?

So I watched the movie last night, I was so hyped and so freaking excited to see it!

First is some of my favorite scenes are missing or not delivered well. Some of my favorite killer lines of Ben seems like they are not delivered well and also the line when Radar was talking to Q at the party, that line is one of my favorite quotes from the book! But its all good,  they all did well to portray the characters especially Austin Abrams who played Ben ( My favorite character). He made the whole theater laughing the whole time and that was great. And also the other casts, Natt did play the awkward weird Quentin well so is Cara, oh Cara. I wouldn’t mind chasing and have long road trip to chase a girl who looks like Cara. Hahaha. I think the casts are on point and did very well.

There are tons of good and funny scenes, the black Santas, the road trip, the pee, Drunk bloody Ben with the Beer Sword, THE POKEMON SONG ( PROBABLY MY MOST FAVORITE PART) and also the unexpected cameo of Ansel! Its good to see Gus alive flirting . Haha

The Major changes of the adaptation was the ending. I love how they changed the perspective of it, they didn’t focus the story on Margo but the friendship of Q, Radar and Ben. Q isn’t stuck in the past anymore, he learned to appreciate the friends he has and not fantasize about the ones he doesn’t have. So basically the movie was not just about love or romance, its about true friendship.

Overall its another amazing adaptation, Another thumbs up for John Green and the crew for another job well done. I did enjoy watching the movie and I’m planning to watch it again.

Ill give it an 8.5 /10! A must watch!

PS: I also love the soundtrack. You guys should check it! And also come to the cinemas early because they played Me Earl and Dying Girl and The Scorch Trials Trailer

Love, Rosie Movie Adaptation

tumblr_njr2p79i4n1r3463ko1_1280

Love, Rosie Movie Adaptation.

After 123456789 years, Finally!! I was so excited for this movie especially when they released the first trailer and they used The 1975 song Chocolate ofcourse I freaked out! And then on the second trailer they used Kodaline High Hopes which is so perfect for this adaptation and it gave me so much feels. Too bad they didn’t show this movie here in the Philippines so I waited on kickass for a clear copy. Haha

Another thing that made me excited for this movie are the main casts. I mean Lily Collins who played Rosie Dunne and Sam Claflin who played Alex Stewart was so perfect for the roles, it suits them very well.

The adaptation was okay for me, not bad and not too good. On the book they had so much struggles and things happened to them before they realized they love each other which I understand, they cant put all those things on a 2 hour length movie. Some of the parts are there but the struggles they had felt like a little bit short and rushed. I’m so glad they didn’t miss to put the funny parts and they added more to make the story more funny and interesting. I don’t know but it feels like something is missing and I was looking for more. Maybe I was just expecting so much things. They shouldve played High Hopes – Kodaline at the end to add more feels. Am I being cliche? Sorry lol. The movie was okay and people who haven’t read the book I think will like the movie too. Ill give the movie a 7.5 / 10 .

tumblr_n6qydnmrnU1r3463ko1_1280The long wait is over!! Finally one of the best selling novel of John Green hits the theaters! I think everyone is so excited to see the adaptation.

So Yesterday was the opening of the movie here in the Philippines, I’m so excited to see it and I cant wait much longer so I decided to go and watch it immediately even without a company. So yeah i watched it alone.

I had high hopes for this adaptation maybe because i love the novel too much and i don’t want the movie to ruin the story. Throughout the movie I’m having goosebumps oh lord my feels too much feels. I love how Natt (Isaac) portrayed his role and that makes me excited to see him portray the role of Quentin in Paper Towns! And then Shai (Hazel )and Ansel ( Gus), for me they did a pretty great job portraying the roles! The fact that they both played a different role in Divergent and in this movie they need to convince the audience that they are sweet teen couple, that’s a challenge! Hands down to Shailene for slaying it! I agree to John Green Shai deserves an award for that performance. Almost everyone in the cinema cried and I guess that’s a proof how good the movie and casts are!

Don`t say the book was better than the movie, Of course! For me Books are always better than the movies! And guys you don’t go watch a movie adaptation expecting it is better than the book. I don’t think that’s the right attitude.

For me the movie was good, they did stay true to the book though there are few things missing but still it was all good! As far as I know I`m satisfied with no disappointment. Two thumbs up for John Green and all the casts and crew!

And also the soundtrack! Yeah for me the best movie soundtrack of the year so far!! Man Ed Sheeran, Birdy, M83, Jake Bugg , Kodaline and many more, tell me how cant you love the soundtrack? If you want to worsen the pain after watching the movie listen to the sountrack! Okay?

Movie: 9/10

Soundtrack: 10/10
